I found this wavy blade at a Dutch collectors website. They look for all sorts of excavated items but couldn't determine what this is.

It looks like a short version of the Flamberge swords.. but this is far out of my field of expertise

Maybe some other members can shed light into this subject.
No dimensions or other pictures are available but they are very eager to assist according to there website.

the construction of the short tang, on which the strong tapering handle/grip is fixed with a single pin, so that inside of barrel is not damaged, reveals that this is a plug bayonet. 17th C.!

they have a hilt so could also be used as a dagger.

they were also made from broken rapier blades, whether this is the case here, I do not know.

best,
Jasper

Just a guess ...

Doesn't it look like this blade was shortened in both ends ?
This judging by the by the fuller, which ends too far into the point and starts too close from the tang ... no ricasso at all.
As Jasper suggests, a blade either modified for a plug bayonet or for a dagger ... probably salvaged from a broken sword :o .
