Hi, hope somebody can help me here - iīve got a machete-typ blade - the former owner said to me itīs from indonesia/borneo??? It would be very nice, if somebody can help me to identify this wonderful item.

I am also very curious on this piece.
A good friend of mine, who is one of the major European collectors of Indonesian weapons, owns two resembling ones. He has been searching for an answer for years if it's Borneo or something else.
His blades and scabbards have a different shape but the colours and the decorations are the same.

I don't know if this is of any help but the birds head shaped hilt as well as the coloring and the carving on the scabbard are reminiscent of the Black-Crowned Pitta a native bird of Borneo. I don't know if this bird is native to any of the surounding areas though.

@Dajak, you are sure with Sarawak? What tribe?
Ok here are more pictures of the handle and blade. I didnīt clean it - this blade is still sharp as hell - beautiful original condition.

Hi Rainer I can only tell that these are used in Sarawak as an little parang
I have had 2 similar to this one and have an older one they have not an old history as the other Borneo swords these items mostly date back to the 1950
Is it rattan or brass on the hillt ??
