I just have bought an Indonesian knife by epray but I am unsure how to call it and from where it is. It is inside scabbard 10-7/8" with a blade of 7-1/4". Any help and comment would be very appreciated.

IT LOOKS LIKE SOME KNIVES I HAVE SEEN FROM THE ISLAND OF NIAS OFF SUMATRA.

yes, this is definitely from nias.. considered as under the parang category..
i've seen a similar piece like this posted in other forums..

Thank you as well Willem! :) I know that I have seen one before somewhere but can't remember where and was very unsure if I am correct.
Maybe someone have a similar one and can post pictures. :shrug:

Hello,
I have a "vintage" (I don't think that is very old) mini balato.
The blade is relatively thick (4mm) and measures 12,6cm
Overall size : 22cm
The style of the handle is close to that of small balato and si eulis in this thread :
