Ancient spear

A friend has this spear tip. Gentlemen colleagues, how old is this spear? Thank you very much. :shrug: :confused:

Telling by the generally finely wrought and sharply pointed leaf shape and the octagonal outer surface of the socket, I would date this object tentatively to the 2nd half of the 16th c.

In my collection there is a similar so-called frog's-mouth spear, Graz/Styria, ca. 1560, retaining its original but slightly shortened octagonal haft, and all preserved in optimum original condition - see attachments.

I think this spear is much older, maybe scythian or sarmatian

Assuming a production for this spear head in Ancient Times is of course possible, especially when you take into consideration the finely wrought pronounced central rib of the blade, as well as the fact that the Renaissance just repeated the ancient forms.
It was only not with sufficient authority on my side that I could have pleaded for such an early period of origin.
