Some time ago this dagger was offered in ebay for a high price and so it wasn't sold. I think the pictures are worth to be shown here. I think it's some sort of a very unusual gunong but I can be wrong.

Maybe this is mini-katar? Or a secret weapon?

Blade form and okir (engraving on the blade) seems to my eyes Moro work, gunong similar. Maybe Jose can confirm this.

Well the okir work looks Maranao to me. The shape does not look like anything that was done in antiquity. Looks like a recently made piece to me. Interesting though to see how the old is morphing into new forms. I also like the way the okir was applied to the blade form.

I am also don't think that it is antique but the piece seems to have age, look to the well patinated wooden handle pieces, my guess would be WWII period until middle last century, blade form and okir would fit IMHO.
And agree with you that it is a very interesting piece, sadly it was much to expensive.

The age I would agree can go back to WWII at the earliest, but for me no earlier. Recent to me is WWII and up. I might even say it could be 1950s.
