Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

Been away for a while and my company blocked this website as it concerned weapons. Not to worry, I don't work for them any more !

Just purchased this as Burmese. I suspect Borneo.
No scabbard.

All suggestions welcome

15 ins overall length
10 1/2" blade
Antler hilt with a horn ferrule
2 copper inserts in sides of blade and 6 on the spine.
Blade is flat on both sides.
No idea what the script is.

Regards
Roy

This type of hilt is often considered by many of the great and good as tourist work. I do not believe this, and clearly you have a working knife from somewhere off the beaten path.

I can imagine why you think of Borneo.

copper inlay, inlay on the back/spine. stag hilt. handy short chopper blade as we have seen before on the forum.

Yet, it is not typical Borneo imho, and the inscriptions on the blade look genuine and look absolutely not Borneo.

I hope someone recognises the writting on the blade to help us on the way.

Best regards,
Willem

I thought there might be a few more comments on this one so I'm bringing it up again. I think it is too well made to be tourist.
