got this as a heirloom. look similar to bagobo? or other similar lumad shot kampilans but still different. scabbard is wraped in silver and brass. the handle is carabao horn shaped like a snake head? would love to have you opinion guys. blade seems to be laminated traditionally.

Hello,

welcome to the forum. this sword don't look Lumad or Bagobo to my eyes but Indonesian, Sulawesi, could be a Alamang of unusual form. Look here and compare, special the ferrule: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=10896&highlight=alamang

It's Indonesian for sure, most probable fom Sulawesi but I am not sure if you can call it an alamang, I have never seen a handle like this by an alamang. Would like to read the opinion from Michael. It is a nice sword IMHO.
