Dave and Lonna generously parted with one of theirs for one of mine. A shield for a sword trade. An incised / tatooed Mindanao Lumad shield. A tag reveals that it was once in a college collection in Wisconsin.

wow! that's a heck of a bagobo shield, bro! it's non-typical, as in the color is different from what i normally see out there. the wood has a real nice patina on it. i especially like the incisions as well; very tribal. i might just copy the design for my next tat sleeve, lol.
what is the length and width of this, kino?

Dave told me that the shield has been hanging on his wall for at least 20 yrs.
I guess he got tired of looking at it. :)

that's a pretty good size shield, kino! i just notice that the inside part is carved as well. that's some pretty cool stuff right there.
i already got 3/4 sleeve on the left arm; just didn't know how to finish it off. i think i got my answer :) :cool:

Thanks for offering me the Viet shield. I like them but already have two excellent examples. keep me in mind for any other shields you want to sell.
