Well not that its much of a starting point but i've seen the acorn teminal on the quillon a few times, on the family of swords in this thread http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=16434 and sometimes on German hirschfanger type swords ( the Germans gave out alot of daggers with terminals of that sort in shooting clubs in the years before WWII ).

I think it is a Danish M/1831.

It came with and without the bayonet.
Best.

Did some reading...... the danish one was only delivered with the fullered blade. And it has got the "BGC" stamp on the crossguard.
They where made at "Frederiksværk" arms factory, but only a few has got the makers mark.
Best
