Hello Ganja Iras,
Excellent news that Pak Muh could transfer his precious experience to his son. I did not travel to Lombok since 1996 but have one friend (and KWK member) who commissioned one such hilt for me and met 2 prominent keris collectors/ sellers from Lombok at the Jakarta keris Fair in 2010. :)

Hello Ganja Iras,
Very sad news indeed, and my sincere condolences to his family. We have lost a great hilt maker, I did not have the privilege to meet him in person but I thank the Lombok and Austrian friends who introduced me to his work and will remember Pak Tua Muh for ever whenever I see the great hilt which he made for me. Sorry for the picture quality but you can see the extremely fine weaving work.
Regards

Sad about the death of a master.

However, it is good to see that the art is continuing when so many other indigenous arts are dying.

yes, to prevent lost precious skills; someone has to continue the line. I am glad there are people who do so.
