Hi folks
I obtained 2 identical spears, full brass, not sharpened...thus probably currency spears.
The left one is uncleaned. Length is about 156 cm.
Arrived in Belgium in the late 40ties/beginning 50ties.
Any ideas about their origin?

Nice - presumably used as currency, only seen iron ones before. Anything in that currency book by Ortiz ?
Most likely from the Congo somewhere, particularly with the Belgian provenance...

Thanks.
One identical has been sold last year on ebay.
I didn't find any in my books about Congolese weapons, I don't have the book by Ortiz?

Mistake - the book I was thinking of was "An Ethnographic Study of Primitive Money" by Charles J Opitz, 2000
Thanks.

"An Ethnographic Study of traditional Money"
Couldn't find the book at a reasonable price.
Would someone who has the book be so kind to check?
