Hello,
I'm a new member to his forum and trying to get in conctact with other people who have the same "collecting bug", or how do you call it, like I do. Because once you start collecting you don't ever wanne stop...
I collect figures, masks and weapons from the Congo.
Here are some pieces of my collection, enjoy...
From left to right: a Teke, Ngombe, Mangbetu knife. The top one I'm not sure, maybe Yakoma-Ngbandi. Any suggestions are welcome. Hope the photo is okay, I'm better in collecting African art then taking photos...
Yours, Carlo

Salaams Carlo~ Welcome to the Forum.
Your chosen field is a great one ! Perhaps you already read this but Burtons The Book of The Sword is a famous resource for ethnographic weapons in your field. Its on line and free.

Thanks Emanuel, this type of Mangbetu knife is rare to find, there is a great variety of Mangbetu of knives. I like them also...
I didn't know ,Ibrahiim, that you're also interested in Congo knives. I see that you live near the UAE. How did you get in contact with Congo knives? Thanks for the tip about the book. I'm going to google it, I didn't know it existed.
Any suggestions about the knife at the top of the photo, is it Yakoma-Ngbandi?
Yours, Carlo

Salaams Carlo~ Yes the UAE IS 1500 metres along the road! I am interested in all things ethnographic weapons... It comes with being a member here! Somewhere at home I have some other interesting references to African work( I will dig them out) but eventually once a subject has been disected by enthusiastic people like yourself what happens is the library grows bigger than most reference books and becomes live ... filled with web references and all sorts... Have fun with it...
Regards,
Ibrahiim.
