Hi
My latest collection access, a beautiful piece that gives me much joy in the moment.
Now I would like to make an accurate identification.
can someone translate the inscription on this Kindjal?
Can someone define more precisely the place of manufacture than Caucasian?
Thank you for your work

I'll give it a go...
It reads Daurbek Borukaev in old Russian (most likely the name of an owner) with a date of 1886 (but you probably figured that part by yourself ;) )
I am no expert in names. My guess would be Buchara or surrounding territory. Definetely not Georgian or Armenian.
It is a very nice peice and i wish i could offer you more information

Daurbek Borukaev [Даурбек Борукаев] was the original owner of the kindjal. It's an Ossetian name. Ossetia is also known as Alania. Kinjals were made there in great quantities.

I forgot to ask for joy quite what you realize it is an Ossetian Kindjal?
what are the differences between Georgian, Armenian, Chechen or Dagestanian Kindjal?
