Monster bar shot captured

I "captured" this bar shot at an antique gun show yesterday. It is huge and weighs about 30 lbs. Since it is no longer available from the dealer's site, there should be no problem linking it here, hopefully, as it has more and better pix than I have.

The equivalent to a 24 pounder ? enough to rip the masts of a carrack.

Thanks Fernando, I should have mentioned that this round was designed for a 32-pounder gun. I did some research and during the American Revolution 1775-1781, an earthenwork, star-shaped fort "Fort Washington" existed on Morris Heights, New York City, origin of this recovery. The fort had four 32-pounder cannon facing the water, hoping to sink or disable any British ships attempting to pass the fort. On the opposite side of the river was Fort Lee, completing the defensive barrier to British shipping. Unfortunately Fort Washington was captured by the British (and Hessians) during a land battle.

I've heard that here before but never thought to ask "why?" So now I ask "what is your issue/problem with photo hosts?" Reason I ask is that I've been posting on many forums for many years using Photobucket links as they are convenient, and in my case, permanent, and have never had a complaint before. Would you kindly give just a bit of explanation? Frankly I am so used to using that host, I am not familiar with other ways of posting photos.

Just like 'Nando, I have always felt it would be most appropriate to copy and post images and as much information as possible from other links to make them available here for anybody on our forum.
As the present case has proved, links can die out.
