Still needing to de-access items from my collection; recent acquisitions were rather expensive and out of budget.
This time is a Spanish Colonial Cavalry Officer’s sword from mid 18th century. The shell guard somehow resembles that of model 1728 for Dragoons. The 76 cms. double edged wide blade is one of the most appealing i ever had. The marks on one side (owner ?), are very clear; those on the other (possibly a motto?), are faded and not readable.
This sword is in an impeccable condition.
A similar example may be seen in a Vicente Toledo publication.
