Won this on ebay for a good price and waiting for it to come in.
What I'm wondring is if anyone recognizes the signature. Also, if from the vendor's pictures can you guys see any noticable kizu? The hamon looks nice at the base of the blade, but it is a bit of a tired blade towards the tip?

Hello, all! Anything?
Does the Mei look legitimate? Did I purchase a dud or would this be worth a professional polish? It did not demonstrate any of the red flags I usually associate with chinese-made forgeries, however I am not very well versed in nihonto so I may very well have bought myself a lemon.

I can't tell much from these pics, but looks like it might be a very late war production sword. Post some nice shots when you get her in a then let's take a look. Cheers

Will take pictures of blade and closeups of Mei tomorrow in natural sunlight (If the clouds decide to part, that is).
By "War production sword" does that mean it was one of the oil-quenched blades made of factory steel for military purposes, or was this made of traditional tamahagane?
