HI ALL
THE AUCTION JUST ENDED. THE BOWIE SEEMS NICELY MADE. ANY IDEA HOW OLD IT IS?

Lovely piece. I don't know the age, but the blade shape looks similar to one I have. Your octagonal handle and bolster makes for a very elegant form. Here's mine.

No "hard" evidence, but as you know a ton of stuff was brought
back after WW II by GI's from the Philippines. I would guess this
is from that period.

May be an older piece than WWII by looking at the scabbard bands, and how they were constructed. Though, checking to see if the ferrule is brazed or one piece, could give more of a clue.

If I had to guess from the way each knife and scabbard are styled (which is what I'm doing :D) I would say that Lews knife is pre-WWII while Fergusons knife is post-WWII.

Hi All
I snapped of a picture of the bowie. I feel it's a WW2 vintage knife the ferrule seems to be solid no seam is visable.
