I find it hard to believe that these daggers are 300 yrs old based on the inscribing. If these are indeed Mahdist period dagger they can't be older than 1885?

- the paper never refuse ink and when it's engraved in marble or iron :p

interpretation I leave it for more expert than me :D

In portuguese: paper accepts all...
I believe the Mahdists copied what already existed ...in this case: the style of the words Thuluth and the design of daggers. How copied others styles: indian, mamluk, western african ..
