Hello all. Here is another restoration project I just started. It's not quite a basket case. I should have took pics of the lock before I sent it off. The patina on the lock looks like the barrel, BUT it is in working order. This gun has numerous PERIOD repairs from field use. This gun has seen alot of action. The tang on the breech plug was originally about a 1/2" longer. I can tell it was broke a long time ago. Someone - back then - had drilled a new hole in the tang and attached it with a wood screw. That's the reason for the hole in the brass. Yes, it's all somewhat of a mess. Cracks to glue, etc. I'll post again in 2-3 months. Wish me luck. :D Thanks, Rick.

Hello. I believe this gun is of Turkish origin, early 19th Century. I will soon be resuming work on it. Thanks, Rick.

Congratulations, very beautiful specimen. You have a lot of work on recovery. Mostly need a flint mechanism.

Hello!! Nice Bulgerian Rifle. Very nice. I do have the lock. Just finished repairing it to working condition. The barrel is a smooth bore. I am having a steel liner installed for safe shooting. Working on the stock at the moment while waiting for the barrel to be returned from the gunsmith. Will post the finished gun in a couple months. Thanks for posting your gun. Wish it was mine. :D Rick.
