Congrats, Dave & Lonna - these twistcore blades are just gorgeous!

Any reason to assign this piece to the T'boli? The blade looks more Bagobo to me (shape and workmanship).

The hilt and guard have more than a touch of Visayan styles IMHO. A blade that traveled to new shores?

Regards,
Kai

I'm with Kai 100%. The blade looks Bagobo to me and the rest, well, yeah Visayan.

Here is my Bagobo sword for comparison and as an example of what we are talking about:

Hi guys. Yes, it could very well be Bagobo, hadn't thought of them. How
far in terms of distance are these two groups. Have the Bagobo ever been
known to have done a twist-core, or do you think this blade was done by a
moro maybe for some kind of a presentation piece. I also thought the handle
was Vasayan and the carving is much better when seen in person. The
blade is 19 inches long a a quarter inch at the guard.........Dave.

Dave that is a good question. Not sure, although my example is the only one I know that has a double twistcore. I would not be surprised if this were traded from Moros since they are were known to make and trade them.
