An nice old vintage/antique Islamic Shibriya Jambiya Dagger from Jordan.

This example probobly dates to the early 20th century. The blade is made from a reused file which can be seen in the crosshatching visible on the surface. This also shows that this is an early and genuine piece. The scabbard is wood with a brass covering, and the hilt is horn with silver and some niello decorated sheet covering.

Condition of dagger is very good for its age. The white metal disk washer behind the talisman link is a replacement, otherwise all original. There is slight damage to the end of the scabbard (see pics) and the solder joins on the upper part of the belt loop and silver straps on hilt have come apart. A simple fix for the handyman.

A nice and rare example of this distinctive ethnographic type.

Price is £65 (including paypal fees) With shipping (registered) at cost.

Due to circumstances beyond the buyers control, the deal didn't happen.
So this unusual example of a Shibriya is STILL AVAILABLE.
