Another ex-ebay item; #220702194436 The handle is aluminum; I wonder if it's cast-on, or hollow like the brass Lumad handles? The shape is traditional Visayan, of course, with a left-handed blade. Do you think there might be a Lumad connection?

Hello Jenny,

This is a Visayan hilt style (in a modern/post-WW2 version) - no Lumad connection that I can see. Will try to find pics...

I could have sworn that this sword has been discussed before on the forum and if I remember right it was owned by Shelly (LabanTayo). I've been trying to find the thread but so far no luck. I don't think the hilt is hollow but is probably cast onto the blade. If I can locate Shelly's email I will contact him and try to find out as much information as I can on this.

I agree with Kai and Robert - it is cast aluminum, not Lumad, and WWII.

Definitely wwII. The description did not originally include the word aluminum; when the hilt may have been brass the Lumadiness was stronger. ;)
