Bagong buwan (New Moon) was an award winning film (http://www.abs-cbn.com/starcinema/movies/bagongbuwan/synopsis.htm) on the current Mindanao conflict.
It featured an interesting scene on some moro blades.
The young military officer (who was leading a house to house search for moro rebels) was drawn to a set of moro blades in a datu's house. As he was about to touch the kampilan, the datu cautioned him saying the blade was his ancestors' and was used to drive away invaders of their land. The datu was in effect saying he would not hesitate to use it on the young soldier.
There is also another scene showing a set of maranao chess pieces.

It was shown long ago. 2-3 years? DVD should be out. But, shame on me, I haven't really kept track of Pinoy movies on DVD. :( Well, I haven't even seen it. Argh!!!
I read there's an interesting Filipino-made PC game called "Anito: Defend a Land Enraged" that employs Asian martial arts.

I saw the subtitled version when it showed at an Asian film festival a few years ago, the opening scene pans across Lake Lanao and their oldest mosque, Bob T you must have a good photo? Of interest was the part where the leader ties the cloth of the kampilan to his hand before he attacks. Some critics thought the movie was a bit preachy but I liked it overall. I've been wanting to watch another film about Lapu Lapu all the way through but I'm looking for a dvd copy with subtitles, I caught some of the beginning battles which were funny to see with director/writers conception of native weaponry, they had some warriors with kalinga shields? and kampilan held backwards? Why didn't they bother to consult us here at the EEWF...lol
