This is the last set of pictures from my visit to Oxford. I took these pictures because we have on this forum many different oppinions as to what is R horn and how to identify it. I do not want to rubbish any of these oppinions openly. I just want to show this and say; many types of horn can be transluscent depending on thickness obviously. Here it appears very much like a fairly course grained wood and I am using flash, most probably just not the smoothest of polish to the horn . Just thought it interesting.
