Hello Hans,
Interesting silver work on the scabbard.
What style origin is it ?
As for the hilt.
Do you mean "hoorn" as in "hertshoorn" (= dutch for stag)
Ps. impressive piece, but maybe a silver uwer would be better matching ?
Best regards,
Willem

Best wishes for your birthday, Hans! Amazing collection!
The engraving looks fantastic !
Can we ascertain that this is Balinese work?
The hilt and blade look rather recent (or reworked) to me.

Kai

This blade doesn't appear to be in "Bali polish". I was assuming this was recent work given an aged look, but i could be wrong.

Yes, this is obviously a Bali-style keris. I was referring to the silverwork only though. I'd be interested wether these are traditional Balinese motifs. Workmanship looks fairly modern but I could be dead wrong... ;)

Yes, looks more like Jawa-style warangan done to resemble Bali-style. I seem to remember hints that warangan on Bali is nowadays done by Javanese/Madurese (or based on re-imported skills) - any new info on the current situation?

Kai
