Hi Dmitri
are you sure that is a "Karud" ?? ;)
my point of view (that commit "only" myself ... ;) ) is that beautiful "Damascene Johar" (not Indian wootz) weapon looks more
- a Peshkabz (Central Asia) who is any way belong the family of "Persian knifes"
as well as; Chau, Jambiya, Kard, Karud, Khandjar, Khapwah, Peshkabz ans Zirah Bonk ...
definatly, your "Peshkabz" looks 19th century :D - Congratulations

I would consider it a form of karud. The hilt has seen it's share of repairs but it is still a very nice example. :) Pesh kabz I thought have more upswept blades?

but ... the hilt it's very specific to Peshkabz
this is my point of reference ;)
on pic's belong our friend, the second knife (down) according with "Islamic Weapons" is identify as Peshkabz not as "Karud"
"Karud" looks more as "Kard", I mean knife without a strong heel

Thanks for opinions. All the same it seems to me that the direct blade is typical for karud
