Thin silver coftgari on metal fittings like this is usually Syrian work. I think it is Syrian kindjal and fittings.

I am changing my opinion towards Caucasuan late 19th - early 20th C. Kindjal :-)

The end 19 - the beginning 20 C. Kindjal. But I consider that it not caucasus. Syria. Ornaments silver and flat section of a blade are typical for Syria.

Конец 19 - начало 20 C. Kindjal. Но я считаю, что это не Кавказ. Сирия:)
Mahratt, thank you for sharing your opinion. Please try to post in English if you can. I'll translate for now: "Late 19th - beginning of 20th C. But I reckon this is not Kavkaz, but Syria".
I also thought Syria at first, but had a reference of similar one described as "Kavkazian", so went with that.

I agree with Mahratt: not Caucasus by a long mile. The all-iron handle and the silver koftgari point to Syria . Iranian ones also had all-iron handles, but the koftgari tips the scale. Pretty low-quality job: it rubbed off just from hand contact.
