Good day every body

here a small dagger
being of a suite of three weapons (1 Pala and 2 daggers) ...
:o but I have "only" the smallest (19th century)
well discribed as Ottoman Mamluk from Egypt in the book "Islamic Weapons" of Anthony C. Tirri
also, item 229 - in March 2009 suit of 2 (pala+dagger) in "Imperial auction" - Timonium(USA)
http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/6221656

I will see in Egypt if it's possible to fix the missing gems, without denatured the whole

your comments are welcomed :p

A PRETTY LITTLE DAGGER. :D IT SHOULD BE EASY TO GET REPLACEMENT STONES FOR THE TURQUOISE STONES WHICH ARE THE MOST NUMEROUS. THERE IS ONE CORAL MISSING THAT MAY BE MORE DIFFICULT TO MATCH PERHAPS A PIECE FROM SOME OLD JEWLRY CAN BE FOUND. BE SURE THEY DON'T USE THE HEAVLY DYED RED CORAL STUFF COMING OUT OF CHINA, IT WILL NOT LOOK RIGHT AND IT WILL STAIN EVERYTHING RED.
I FOUND IT ODD THAT ON THE HANDLE THERE WERE ONLY 4 CORAL STONES WHERE IT LOOKS A BIT OUT OF BALANCE WITH ONLY ONE STONE OF WHAT APPEARS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A PAIR NEAR THE BLADE. PERHAPS IT HAD SONETHING TO DO WITH THE WAY IT WAS CARRIED. THE TWO DARK REDISH STONES APPEAR TO BE GARNETT THE TWO PINK STONES  I HAVE NO IDEA. I HOPE A SUITABLE MATCH FOR THE PINK STONES CAN BE FOUND FOR THE ONE THAT IS MISSING. GOOD LUCK ON AN INTERESTING PROJECT. :)

Thanks Wandoo for your pertinent comments
I'm not very concern about gems, as you said;
- turquoises, are very easy to get, and very small :p
- coral, I've been diving for years in Red Sea, and I have a good knowledge about coral,
the type present on the dagger, it's call "old coral"
nothing to see with the "China junk" what is just white coral colored artificially
in Egypt I'm a lucky man, I have a very good gems and stones dealer :D

my concern, will be to find a good jeweller to made a copy for the "cradle silver" to receive the coral missing on the hilt :o
very good jeweller, to make new, something with a look for ancien

You will need to shop around for that jeweler so I wish you much luck. :)

I was very lucky to pick this little gem up some years back the blade is about 3.25-50 inches long and is pattern welded steel.
