Any thoughts on it? Did a forumite get it? I asked for some close ups but did not get them. It looked like it could be a twist core, but I don' t think it is. Would like to know for sure though. :D

Does look like it should have a twistcore, but not seeing evidence. Does seem older form of kris.

There's something a bit strange about the juncture of Sorsoran and Gangya .

Battara,
That's what I thought. All the twist cores I have seen have been of this type, but not all this type have twist cores. Stefan recently had one on ebay of the same type, unrestored. I emailed him and asked him about it, he saw no signs of twist core. I've been trying to make some sense of the construction style and the twist core for ebay purposes of course. But as usual with swords, just when you think you understand it, the question changes! Either way this was a pretty nice blade, someone made a good deal.
Rick, I see what you mean, it could be something significant, like a reworked blade, or just bad photos. Hard to say, I did not get the photos I requested, someone else requested close ups, be intresting if they got them.

The sculpting of the sorsoran seems pretty shallow; thin blade ?

No, I didn't get any close ups either.
That was the reason I didn't bid high enough to get it.

Michael,
When I saw the question asked of the seller, I suspected it was you, but was not about to allude to anything in this post. Kinda wierd that two Michael's requested pictures. I'm in the same boat as you, I had a bid in but I'm not going high on a pig in a polk. When I asked for pictures I told the seller it was to determine if the sword was a twist core. So I suspect it is not. I have now seen more of this construction that are not twist core then are. So much for the theory I was developing.
