Now and then you see some strange remakes from Indonesia.
But this is probably the most creative I have seen for a long time.
It's a Beladah Belabang ("Parang Nabur" according to Stone) from South Borneo remodelled (D-guard and top of the hilt sanded away etc.) into something supposed to look more Sumatran.

Michael,

You say "remake".
But the blade looks pretty genuine to me, besides the fact that it is completely blackened (Wrangan ?)
Also the mounting and the handle look old but remodelled.

Or am I mistaken ? Is this recent ?

Best regards,
Willem

Hullo everybody,

Hypothesising is great.... but why not ask the Seller? .. after all, he IS a forumite;)

Best,

We should focus on the item; not the Seller as is mentioned in the posting guidelines Gentlemen .

but why not ask the Seller? ..

I believe the piece is relisted.
Not a good idea to continue the discussion...

Maybe one of the moderators can tell us if we can continue this thread now when "it" has been relisted?

Nope. Someone can start a new thread when the re-listed auction ends, though. :)
