I have bought this small sword from Sumatra, do someone know from where exactly it is or have someone a similar sword? It is 60 cm over all inside the sheat, the blade is 44,5 cm. The pictures are from the seller. All other comments are also very welcome, thank's in advance,

Pedang lurus?

Von Zonneveld:

"A variant of the pedang usually with a beautifully decorated silver hilt and scabbard. It has an almost straight, partly two-edged blade tapering towards the point. The hilt is round and near the end slightly curved. At the blade the hilt may have a broadened cross segment exactly fitting the scabbard with its boardened mouthpiece. Some examples have European blades."

Thank you Andrew,

very interesting insertion! I have a small Pedang Lurus and the blade is indeed very similar. But this would mean that this sword are from Java!? My feeling have been that this sword have his origin in Sumatra; the hilt and also the silver work let me think like this. Later I will post a picture with both swords side by side.
