Hi folks,
I posted pics of this sword on the old forum http://www.vikingsword.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002539.html

The blade came cleaned by a previous owner. I've been curious about the composition of the blade steel, to today i gave it a mild etch. Turns out it's a monosteel, but very nicely differentially hardened. It's not a chisel grind, but a full flat grind from the spine to the edge. It's starp too. Don't ask me how I know.

Looks like the kind fighting bolo or talibong I would use in a serious situation... :D

Love that handguard...

Zelbone,
You bet! It's a zero grind. It's flat from the spine to the edge and incredibly sharp. In scrubbing it after etching I accidentally flicked my fingernail against the edge. It went through the nail, into the meat, then as I jerked my finger back, cut a quarter inch trough through the end of the nail. OUCH! Now I have a U-shaped fingernail. She's a thirsty blade.
