Hello ,
someone can lighting me on the origin of this knife.
Length 16' ovl
hilt made with bronze and scabbard is made with wood and bronze
Is it Sassak or Batak or other?.....

I would suggest it is Batak from the motifs .

Would agree, clearly Batak motif. What material is the handle?

The handle is made in sculted massive bronze.

Hello Eric,

no, this is a sword from Sumba, similar a Kabeala but from the region around the city from Bondokodi. I have a very similar sword, look here:

Hello Eric,

like you see in my thread, I also don't know something more about and I have never found something. The only information I have is A. from the seller of my sword and from B. the e-bay seller Tafenso, he offered two or three swords of this type in the last years, he described them as Bondokodi swords from Sumba. After a look in my Indonesien map I have seen that this is a village on Sumba. This is the same what the seller of my sword told me in 1994, he have been from there.
