Lew cataloged this item a Zulu wooden dance spear / club circa the 1920s. A slightly irregular (and hand wrought) shaft consists almost entirely of dark heart wood except for a small length where it expands in diameter opposite the head. The head is also mostly dark heart wood with bands of paler sap wood seen at the greatest width on one face only. Overall length is 39 inches (99.2 cm) with a weight of 10 2/3 ounces (309 grams).
